Why We Use a Hunter Alignment System at Redline Autohaus

Wheel alignment is one of those services people usually notice only after the car starts pulling, chewing through tires, or feeling unstable at highway speed. At Redline Autohaus & Performance, we take it more seriously than that because alignment is not just about keeping the steering wheel straight. It affects tire life, braking stability, steering response, and how confidently the car tracks on the road.

That is why we use a Hunter alignment setup in-house at our Windsor shop. For us, the point is simple: if we are working on suspension, steering, ride height, or tires, we want the alignment measured accurately and adjusted properly before the vehicle leaves.

Why alignment accuracy matters

A lot of alignment complaints start before the customer even realizes there is a problem. Uneven tire wear, a steering wheel that sits slightly off-center, darting on the highway, tramlining, or a car that feels nervous after suspension work are all common signs.

Modern vehicles are also more sensitive to alignment than people think. Low-profile tires, larger wheel packages, aggressive factory suspension geometry, and performance-oriented chassis setups leave less room for error. On European vehicles in particular, small alignment changes can have a noticeable effect on how the car drives.

Why we use a Hunter alignment system

The Hunter setup in our shop helps us measure alignment angles consistently and make precise adjustments once the vehicle is properly inspected and positioned on the rack. That matters whether we are setting up a daily driver, correcting wear issues, or dialing in a car after control arm, tie rod, spring, coilover, or other suspension work.

Just as important, it gives us a clear before-and-after picture of what the vehicle was doing when it arrived and what changed after adjustment. That helps remove guesswork and gives the customer something concrete to review.

Alignment is not just for lowered or modified cars

Performance and lowered cars absolutely need proper alignment, but so do stock vehicles. We see alignment issues caused by potholes, curb strikes, worn suspension components, accident history, and normal wear. Even a vehicle that drives "fine" can still be running through a set of tires faster than it should.

If your car has recently had suspension or steering work, new tires, or a ride height change, alignment should be part of the job, not an afterthought.

What we look for before the adjustment

A good alignment does not start with the printout. It starts with making sure the vehicle is actually ready to be aligned. If there is play in the suspension, worn steering parts, damaged components, or tire issues, those problems need to be identified first. Otherwise you can end up aligning around a mechanical fault instead of fixing the root cause.

That is one reason we like to handle this work in-house. We can inspect the car, identify obvious issues, and then complete the alignment on the same setup instead of bouncing the vehicle between multiple shops.

When to book an alignment

  • After replacing steering or suspension parts
  • After installing lowering springs or coilovers
  • After buying new tires or wheels
  • If the steering wheel is off-center
  • If the vehicle pulls left or right
  • If the tires are wearing unevenly
  • After a pothole hit or curb impact
